Agreed, in addition the questions should also include:
Social and Ethics committee,
a) do the members of the committee understand their responsibilities in line with the UN Global compact and the Companies Act,
b) are the risks of non-compliance to policy, process and legislation tabled at the committee,
c) how does this committee discharge its duties in terms of disciplinary action against offenders,
The Ethics Officer should form part of the companies top or senior management. If not then how serious is a company about unethical behavior.
Are the values of the company inclusive of the Ethical Leadership values: integrity, honesty, transparency etc.
Is there an Ethics policy or does it form part of the Code of Conduct. How has this been implemented.
Does HR appoint people who share the same values as the company? Are there background checks including sanctions checking.
