8. ELECTION OF PRESIDENT AND VICE-PRESIDENTS

8.1 At its first meeting after taking office every year the Executive Committee shall elect from amongst its members a President and two Vice-Presidents of the Institute, at least one of whom shall be resident in or close to the centre in which the head office of the Institute is situated, to hold office until the election of their successors. The President so elected shall stand for a period of two years.

8.2 The Executive Committee upon election will appoint an Honorary Secretary and an Honorary Treasurer of the Institute and such Assistants or other Officers as they consider necessary for the management and conduct of the affairs of the Institute. If such Officers are not themselves members of the Executive Committee they shall be considered as ex officio members for the purpose of attending Executive Committee meetings where required to do so but shall not be eligible to vote in the meetings with the exception of the Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer who may be so authorised by the Executive Committee.
