About the Presenter

 

Charlotte Nathi Mhlongo

       Experience –Nathi served at various management positions within government. She has 5 years experience as Chief Risk Officer at eThekwini Municipality. She also worked at  uMsunduzi Municipality where she was Process Manager responsible for Expenditure and also acted Chief Finance Officer. Moved to Chief Audit Executive position still at uMsunduzi Municipality and established the Risk Management function. Prior to that she was Deputy Director for CoGTA KZN responsible for municipal finances. For 12 years prior, Nathi was involved with education and training as an educator, trainer and subject specialist. As a qualified educator and trainer, she presented educational program at Radio Ukhozi and also tutored at Unisa in Business and Financial Management. Nathi served in various Committees in public entity and municipalities as Chairperson for Audit and Performance Committee, Chairperson of Risk Committee, member of Audit Committees as well as Board Member. She is also member of SABS T262 Committee for Risk Management

 

       Educational background – Masters in Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Commerce, Secondary Teachers Diploma, Cert in Finance and Auditing of Public Entities (Distinction)

       Expertise –Developing and implementing enterprise wide risk management program, corporate governance, public and municipal finance, strategy facilitation, training, facilitation, consulting, auditing and research.

       Professional recognition - Institute of Risk Management South Africa Up and Coming Risk Manager of the Year in the runner up position; IRMSA associate member
