| ABOUT ENTERPRISE
RISK MANAGEMENT... Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a structured and systematic process, interwoven into existing management responsibilities, to effectively deal with uncertainty and associated risk and opportunity thereby enhancing the organisation's capital and earnings. ERM expands traditional Risk Management processes of identification, evaluation, control (mitigation/maximisation) and transfer to include not just risks from accidental losses but also financial, strategic, operational and, indeed all risks which could impact upon the performance of the organisation. With accountability for prudent risk management evaluated against the business objectives of the organisation resting with the Board of Directors, there has been heightened interest in ERM from industry and government regulators as well as investors. The Institute has researched and published a comprehensive framework for the effective implementation of ERM which is based on the King ll Report. This Code of Practice also offers the facility to benchmark - by outlining one hundred principles of enterprise risk management which have international application. |
