This training workshop is targeted at middle and senior management who need to understand and be able to identify the operational risk exposures threatening the achievement of business objectives.

About the Presenter

After a career in the military, Prof Young joined one of the leading banks and gained valuable knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of risk management processes. He obtained a doctorate in operational risk management and published various articles in international accredited journals on various topics relating to governance and risk management. He also authored a book on operational risk management published by Van Schaiks. He is currently a professor specialising in operational risk management at the University of South Africa and mostly supervises masters and doctoral students. He is also the manager of the Centre for Business Management that offers short learning programmes. He endeavours to establish operational risk management as an integral part of managing a business.
