Q: What is the difference between CRM Prac/Prof?
A: The Certified Risk Management Practitioner (CRM Prac) is a designation in line with the NQF 6 qualification called Organisational Risk Practitioner whilst the Certified Risk Management Professional (CRM Prof) is also a designation that is in line with the NQF 8 qualification called Organisational Risk Manager.
Q: What is the difference between a Designation and the Qualification?
A: The designation is awarded by the professional body and is maintained through completing CPD, paying your membership and adhering to the professional body code of conduct, whereas the qualification is yours for life and cannot be revoked by the professional body.
Q: Who is eligible to write the exam?
A: An individual member of IRMSA with the associate level of membership and has the required risk management experience.
Q: How much is the exam?
A: CRM Prac – Application R795 ex vat and registration R5850 ex vat
A: CRM Prof – Application R815 ex vat and registration R8170 ex vat
Q: Where will the exam take place?
A: Online or Johannesburg Sandton offices, as well as some regions. Please contact professionalisation@irmsa.org.za to determine if your region will be accommodated this year.
Q: When will I receive the study material?
A: As soon as IRMSA receives full payment with respect to your registration invoice
Q: What is the average pass rate for the exam?
A: Around 50% of the candidates pass. Studying timeously and preparing for the exam is crucial.
Q: Are there classes for attending?
A: No, we only host a preparation/content workshop six weeks before the exam online.
Q: Do I still need to complete the logbook?
A: Yes, the CRM Prac logbook is compulsory however, the CRM Prof route has an option of the logbook or a panel interview
Q: When is the logbook due?
A: You are given six months from the day you receive your results
