Ms Comninos has been serving on the IRMSA board since 2021. During her tenure, she was elected as the first vice president and has been serving in that capacity since then.

In November 2020, Ms Comninos was bestowed with IRMSA’s most prestigious accolade, the IRMSA Risk Manager of the year for 2020. In November 2021, her Enterprise Risk Management team at the JSE clinched the IRMSA industry-specific risk initiative award for the Financial Services category, a testament to her exceptional leadership and strategic acumen. 

Ms Comninos currently occupies the role of Group Chief Risk Officer and Group Director: Investments of Purple Group Limited, a JSE-listed company. In this role, she is responsible for group investments, governance, risk, sustainability, compliance, and legal for the group and its subsidiaries. 

With over 18 years of experience in financial markets, her previous roles include vice-chair of the World Federation of Exchanges Risk Working Group and head of various functions at the JSE, including Group Strategy, Sustainability, Equity and Equity Derivatives, and Business Intelligence, as well as other leading industry roles.
