Ms Mthembu has over 17 years of working experience.  She distinguished herself as an all-rounder who is dynamic, possesses excellent communication and presentation skills, is highly analytical and is an exceptional facilitator.  Ms Mthembu is currently the Group Chief Risk Officer for the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, where she is responsible for the development and implementation of the JSE’s Group Risk and Resilience strategy.  

Ms Mthembu has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Duke University and is a certified Risk Management Practitioner designation with IRMSA.

Ms Mthembu has held numerous roles ranging from operations management to strategy, governance, risk and compliance functions. She is exceptional in building business relationships which are essential for driving the agenda of functions within the governance and risk space. In her role she engages with the Board, its structures, executive management while also partnering with staff in functional business areas to achieve collaboration.

She is a speaker and mentor who volunteers her time serving in various industry bodies and using her talents in her church community.
